" From a classic vintage, the Le Bertarole 2016 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico La Marogna is thickly layered and intense withstrong black fruit impressions and equally powerful layers of savoryspice, tar and leather. The wine occupies that special place in whichthe primary fruit is just beginning to turn to tertiary complexity. I'drecommend drinking it now to capture this pretty moment in time. Thewine does show some very light bitterness or stemmy astringency on theclose, but it appears well tucked into the rich fiber and texture ofthis full-bodied Amarone. In the past, this estate made an Amarone fromPodere Le Marognole, but this bottle is labeled as La Marogna."
